Dog Clothes Patterns

Some nimble-fingered seamstresses make their own pet costumes, based on their imagination or following patterns that pop up on Web sites and in pattern books. But if you have no idea how to sew dog clothes, here's a

outfit or two.

Yeah, if the last time you touched a sewing machine was never, than dog clothes patterns may not be of much interest to you.

But your pet need not go naked.

You can make a dog sweatshirt out of an old sweatshirt of yours.

First see that the sweatshirt is the right size for the dog. Measure the dog from the bottom of the neck to halfway to the tail. Cut the sweatshirt to the right length. You can call it good or hand sew a hem.

Cut the sleeves so they reach above the knee joint on the dog's front legs. You can hem the sleeves if you want a better fit or not.

Try on for size. While the neck hole should be fine if the shirt is about as big as the dog you can widen it as needed.

Put the dog's legs in then their head. Reverse when removing. When you take off the sweatshirt, remove it from the head then the legs.
